Guide for Foreigners to Work in China

 

I. Apply for the “Foreigner’s Work Permit Notice”

1. Acceptance Department: 

Shenyang Bureau of Science and Technology  

2. Application materials:

Scanning copies of the following: photo page of passport, valid entry visa page, latest entry stamp page, highest degree certificate, qualification certificates, award certificates.

Curriculum vitae 

Application form (Attachment 1)

Certificate of Medical Examination

Certificate of Employment

Certificate of Non-criminal Record

(Certified by the Chinese embassy or consulate abroad)

Certificate of Highest Academic Degree

(Certified by the Chinese embassy or consulate abroad)

Profile photo on white background (JPG format , photo size no more than 200-k, length and width no less than 100 pixels)

Warm Prompt:

1. Certificate of Medical Examination and Certificate of Non-criminal Record are valid for 6 months;

2. All supporting materials should be translated by a registered translation agency with official seal to make sure all translated copies have equal legal effect;

3. All materials should be submitted to the Office of International Affairs two months prior to the planned entry.

II. Apply for the “Z visa”

1. Acceptance Department:

Chinese Embassy or Consulate abroad

2. Application materials:

The “Foreigner’s Work Permit Notice”, and other application materials as require by the Chinese embassy or consulate abroad.

III. Register at the local police station

1. Acceptance Department:

Local Police Station of the residing community

2. Requirement:

Register at the local police station for the “Temporary Residence for Visitors from Overseas” within 24 hours after entry. Staff who intended to reside on campus may be represented by the Office of International Affairs.

IV. Apply for the “Foreigner’s Work Permit in China”  

1. Acceptance Department: 

Shenyang Bureau of Science and Technology

2. Requirement:

Provide scan copies of the Z visa page and the entry stamp page to the Office of International Affairs within three days after entry. In the meantime provide the original copies of all the certification materials as required before entry.

V. Apply for Work-type Residence Permit

1. Acceptance Department: 

Exit-Entry Administration of Public Security Bureau of Shenyang

2. Requirement:

Applicants should be present to take photos and collect fingerprints in person with application materials.

3. Application materials:

Application document, Passport,Foreigner’s Work Permit in China, Certificate of Medical Examination, Registration Form of Temporary Residence for Visitors from Overseas.
